Brendan Rehbein of Lambert & Rehbein has agreed to provide pro bono services to the Valley Property Owners Group in recommending the best options for the Valley area with regard to carpark ratios and infrastructure charges. This pro bono service includes providing a briefing session to the Property Owners Group meeting and liaison with and submission to BCC Urban Renewal on behalf of the Valley Property Owners Group. Incorporated in 1982 the firm is wholly Australian owned and operates locally to provide the best in personalised service to their clients. These include private, corporate and government bodies in both the local, state, federal and international markets.
The following article was published in the City News, the week of 16 April 2007. This was based on a press release from Councillor David Hinchliffe which was a result of a Valley Chamber release the week before.
“Better bus services, more pedestrian-friendly areas and additional high-rise developments are being considered as part of a major review of the Valley local plan.
Urban Planning Chairman Councillor David Hinchliffe said Council would consult with the community about how to retain the Valley’s character while taking a more flexible approach to building heights to accommodate the expected population influx.
“There’s no question there is unprecedented interest in Valley development and that is going to continue for at least the next 20 years,” said Cr Hinchliffe.

FORTITUDE Valley is set to lead the way in innovative urban planning following a positive meeting between Brisbane City Council and key stakeholders.
Council’s Urban Renewal Brisbane has met with representatives of the Valley Chamber of Commerce (VCOC) Property Owner Committee and the wider community to discuss directions and future strategies for the area.
Urban Renewal representatives left the meeting indicating that further consultation will be undertaken to garner additional feedback to enable the development of a strategic plan to strengthen both the day and night economies of the Valley.
The Valley Chamber of Commerce has been actively involved in the collaborative process with Council to improve the day economy of the area through input into the detailed planning needed to manage long-term future growth of the Valley.
